Alyssa Robles is currently a Registered Nurse at Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael, CA and previously administered private hitting and fielding instruction at Hits, Harmony and Hustle Softball Academy. She comes from a softball background. Her dad, Kirk Laux, played at the highest level of men’s fastpitch and later coached the Guanella Bros. Mens Team out of Rhonert Park, CA who won the Men’s Open Fast Pitch National Title in 1991.
College Playing Experience: Alyssa earned a full ride softball scholarship to the University of Oregon
and was a 4 year letter winner where she played middle infield and first base from 1999-2003. Alyssa was a versatile hitter who could drive the ball for a base hit or execute the short game. She played in a very competitive Pac-10 Conference that featured some of the nation’s top players and Olympians. She earned Honorable Mention All Pac-10 (2001,2002). First team Academic All Pac-10 (2001,2002). She was also named to the 2003 Verizon Academic All-District VIII Team. Alyssa held a 3.46 GPA while Majoring in Psychology and earning a minor in Business. During her collegiate career the Oregon Ducks Softball Program garnered 3 regional births and finished one game shy of advancing to the College World Series in 2003.
High School Playing Experience: While attending Mesa Verde High School Alyssa was a stand out
player. She played varsity all 4 years and was the starting short stop while holding down the lead off spot. She led the Sacramento Metro area in batting average her freshmen year (.506) and earned first team All Metro all 4 years during her high school career at Mesa Verde. She was also named All Conference each of the 4 years during her high school career and was the team MVP 3 years. Mesa Verde won the Division III title under her dad, Kirk Laux her senior season. She still holds the current stolen base record and highest batting ave. at Mesa Verde. Competing with a few travel ball organizations, namely the California Sting, Alyssa then decided to join the Running Rebels out of Stockton her junior year of high school and credits coach Bob Regpala for creating the opportunity to be seen by collegiate recruiters. Alyssa traveled to Osaka, Japan in 1998 and competed at the International Level when she was 17 years old. Alyssa ended her travel ball career playing for the California Sting under the guidance of her dad Kirk Laux where they finished #4 in the country at the ASA 18 Gold Nationals in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Coaching Experience: Alyssa has coached in the Roseville Girls Softball Organization for 4 years at
different levels and currently serves as one of the assistant coaches for the California Comets 12U.
She also administered Hitting and Defense Clinics while being a lead instructor at Hits, Harmony &
Hustle where she trained side by side with her dad. Personal: Coach Alyssa is married to her husband Jeff of 12 years and they have two children, Kayla (11) and Mason (9).
